We have lots of happy memories of Christmas times with Mum…Mum loved this time of year, especially to spoil the boys. I know mum is with us and we’ll do our best to enjoy the festivities as I know this is what Mum would always want x

November 5th 2023 would have been our 57th anniversary, our first bonfire night was our wedding in 1966. I remember it well, I was amazed at your beauty and what a wonderful wife you were. I can remember all those years ago better than the present day as I am often an emotional mess with your loss darling. Bonfire night around here now is more like bonfire fortnight, a nightmare for your Louie but I get lots of cuddles from him which is nice. Love you forever darling. XX

A sprinkle of snow and a cold early Spring day on the 3rd anniversary of my dear Chris passing, at least there is a good show of early flowers. I know grief is personal and different for everyone and mine is not getting any easier still and in some respects it’s harder but we soldier on as best we can without you darling. Love you and miss you always.XX

Three years have now passed and we’re all missing mum. It doesn’t get any easier but we do try and live our lives the way mum would have wanted us to. We think back to all the fond memories and reflect on all the good times we had.

Nearing the end of 2022 another difficult year without you darling, life’s so difficult without you. I’ve relight your white Xmas candle again and done a tribute on the Hospice tree of Remembrance. Love you miss you. X X

I reflect on this historical day of Queen Elizabeth 11 funeral. It’s been a strange lead up since her death on 8th. September. I have felt like I did on my beloved Christine passing on 8th March 2020 in as much as I feel in a state of limbo at times as if in a dream like state. Not reigniting my grieving as that has not gone away at all but stiring the emotions of the occasion and loss. To the Queen, Christine and all our friends we have lost in recent years. Mum is always in our thoughts and it’s tough to think back to when she passed away. I miss mum every day, but I know she is in a better place and we will meet again. All our love always Mum x

Thinking of mum on firework night. We used to have a little gathering around this time of year. I may have a small bonfire and think back on some good times.

Just been thinking , with our 55 wedding anniversary fast approaching it occurred to me regarding our first date, you always said I didn't talk a lot , as I've told you before your beauty took me back, although in the early 60's I had some very nice girlfriends , you were in another league and I felt this was going to be a short encounter. Much to my surprise you agreed to a second date and the rest is history. Love you always, Xxx

We’re having a lovely weekend away in Centre Parcs over the weekend of Mum and Dads birthdays. It’s always nice to go to places that have such fond memories of mum and all the fun we had....😀

Thinking about my best friend of 51 years today and everyday, she was the best friend anyone could ever have, We worked together, had our babies together, and there was always laughter when we got together, I still cry when I think about Chris, she meant so much to me, I will never forget how we enjoyed such a great friendship. I look forward to a continued friendship with mick and boys, who I know she adored.

It is with great sadness that I write my thoughts on this 1st. Anniversary of my darling Chris passing.I have spent this terrible year for so many trying to carry out Chris's wishes to me like looking after her beloved Louie and her bungalow and gardens which I have tried to do to her standards as best I can.A full time job on it's own.It's probably been a distraction from grieving properly if there is a proper way. We still haven't been able to a celebration of life gathering and doesn't look likely in the foreseeable future.We have however set up this Tribute site whic h I have been to update with appropriate memories and photos but have been surprised with the lack of input from some family members and friends and wish they would let me know if there is a problem. I'm glad to say Martin has finished Chris's portrait and look forward to being able to travel again to go and collect it. Just to finish, it's tough now reality is sinking in as this year has been so unreal. Many thanks to you all that have kept in touch and supported me much appreciated. Love Mick.

We didn't really do Valentine's day but I always said you were my valentine every single day not one day a year.X

As the anniversary of mum's passing gets nearer, I find myself reflecting on the year we've just had. It's been a strange time for everyone and its been very difficult at times. We've missed having mum about. We've missed the visits, the days out, the chats and the general interaction we had about everyday things. I'm pretty sure if mum had experienced the last year, she would be doing her usual thing of trying to help as many people around her as she could. I think she would have struggled with not being able to go shopping though. We will soon be in the spring and this was a time that mum loved. She would be tending to her garden or helping keep our garden under control. Mum was always happy pottering in the borders, weeding or creating pots & planters. I really hope we will be able to have a bit more freedom soon, so we can visit some of mum's favorite places again. Until then, we will enjoy and remember doing the things we would have done with mum nearer to home.

Thinking of mum around the time of her (and dads) wedding anniversary. We used to have a firework night in the garden and mum loved watching the boys set off the (rather rubbish) fireworks.

Just got through the first anniversary without my dear Chris, it was hard but Thanks to the previous 53 wedding anniversaries. X
